Questions?

I apologize for the late post.

I was wondering if any of you guys had any questions for me? Please feel free to ask in the comment section below and I'll work on answering them in future blog post!

Have a great day!

  1. Aside from your internships that you were able to do through the HIM program at your school did you ever go out and like apply to volunteer at hospitals in their HIM/Medical Records department?

I have read sooo much on indeed.com in the medical coding part of the career forum where people go through school, do the required internships to get their degree, then even go and pass their RHIT or RHIA exams and still wind up not being able to find a job. All of them say the same thing which is no one wants to hire them because they do not have atleast 1 to 2 years of work experience. With that said, I was thinking it would be smart to probably go out and ask every hospital til one lets you volunteer in their HIM dept. that you way you get work experience in the dept. What are your thoughts on this topic?

Have you found that working in smaller or larger hospitals are better? And why? Thanks for any insight you can share.

  2. My question is, "If you have Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems" could you still be considered qualified to get on in the HIM department of hospital. I am currently taking a Health Information Management career training course from Penn Foster and I was wondering if I would have the credentials to even get hired for these types of positions.
